Altha Bassett "AB" Williamson, Age 79 entered eternal rest on June 2, 2024, at the University of Maryland Capitol Region Medical Center in Largo, MD. Born in Lynchburg, Virginia on March 23, 1945, to Altha and Louise Williamson. He is survived by his children Sarita and Louis, and grandchildren Zayia, Marcus, and Micah.

At age 5 years, he moved to the District of Columbia area and attended the Public Schools.

"AB" graduated in the Spingarn class of 1963, the North Carolina A&T class of 1968, and the Bowie State University Class of 1972. He coached men' s basketball and baseball at Eastern High school, Williamson gained a successful reputation; creating space for him to be recognized and accepted as the Head Coach of Men's Basketball at Howard University. He Earned the title as "The winningest coach" in Howard University history. He paved the way for many great athletes and coaches to rise. He served as the former chairman and president of The Pigskin Club of Washington Inc., where he implemented changes that honored and uplifted both male and female student athletes, in a multitude of sports, encouraged their success and college attendance.

"AB" was actively involved in his community. He led by example, pushing the limits and creating new standards of excellence in all his circles. He inspired countless individuals and gave back more than could ever be reciprocated.
