Barbara Ann Pierce Fears passed away on August 29, 2026. She was the wife of the late John L. Fears. She was born in Pittsylvania County on November 11, 1934 to the late William I. Pierce and Lillie Brooks Pierce.

She was a member of Falling River Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lacy Fears; one brother, Clyde Pierce (Frances); sisters, Virginis Seamster, (Henry), Mary Rudder (Lyle), Betty Lee Rudder (John), Catherine Hailey (Stanley), and Dorothy Martin (Clarence).

She is survived by two children: a daughter, Dianne Marie Fears East and one son, John Ray Fears, both of Brookneal; special friends, Wayne Gunter and Brandi Little of Brookneal; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
