Betty Bray Lipscomb, of Brookneal, VA passed away peacefully, on October 22, 2024, comforted by her strong faith.  She was the loving wife of the late Elton "Butch" Lipscomb for 64 years. She was born on January 23, 1933 in Ontario, Canada and raised in Charlotte County, VA, the daughter of the late James Clem Bray and Nellie Harris Bray.  She served in the US Navy with assignments in Atlantic City, NJ and Seattle, WA.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Ray, Jimmy, Bobby, and John Bray, and Tish Jordan and Laura Harris.

She is survived by her children, Bonnie Lipscomb (Penny) of Richmond, VA,  Bruce Lipscomb (Jackie), of Wake Forest, NC; grandchildren that she adored, Brooke Lipscomb of Charlotte, NC,  and  Blake Lipscomb of Raleigh, NC; her siblings, Beth Epperson of Gladys, Ruth Burgess (Robert) of Lynchburg, and Dale Bray (Patricia) of Brookneal; also many loving nieces and nephews.

She proudly worked along side her husband Butch in their businesses, farming and running B&B Save Station.  She was an active member of Staunton River Baptist Church, helping with numerous church events, and making and delivering food to shut-ins. She was a member of Red Hill Garden Club, and enjoyed making wreaths with her friends there.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to extended family members, Mary R. Elder, Terri Lynn Crabtree, Chuck Riley and Joan Lipscomb, for their support and love over the years.
