Betty Davis Smith, age  82 of Brookneal, passed away on February 1, 2026 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Julius Davis and Lennis Guthrie Davis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Lynn Smith; grandson, Corey Smith; and granddaughter, Catherine Hancock; siblings, Virginia D. Walker, Jimmy Davis, Eunice Letterman, Ann Davis, Marie Brizendine, and Jack Davis..

She is survived by her children, Lennis Waller (Jodie) of Nathalie, Phillip Smith (Angie) of Naruna, Jimmy Franklin Smith, Jr. (Oma) of West Jefferson, NC, and April McDaniel (Malcolm) of Brookneal; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two very special caretakers, Connie Godsey and Curterria Miller; three very special friends, George and Joyce Jones and Mark Wilkes; and a host of other relatives and friends.
