Brenda Brogdon Pannell, age 71 of Brookneal, passed away on August 20, 2025. She was the daughter of the late James Moss and Bertha Mahalia Elam Moss.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tony Lee Pannell; two granddaughters, Tamika Pannell and Samantha Pannell; and two sisters, Carolyn D. Elam and Rita Gaines.

She is survived by her two daughters, Iretta Pannell, Terra Moss, both of Lynchburg; son, Alonzo Brogdon, Sr. (Dawn) of Lawrenceville, NJ; five grandchildren, Veronica (Henry), Brittany, Marion, Jr. Alonzo, Jr. and Malik; one bonus grandson, Mike L.; seven great-grandchildren that she loved dearly; five sisters, Linda Elam of Newark, NJ, Connie Gaines, Robinette Asher (Toby) and Rachel Gaines, all of Brookneal, Ruth Elam of Powhatan; two brothers, Ronald Gaines (Gloria) of Brookneal, Charles "Roland" Gaines of Charlotte Court House; devoted friends, Silas Alexander, Louise Trent, Felicia Bryant and Patricia Spinner; fur baby, Bentley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
