Mr. Charles Edward Dillard, age 71 of Lynchburg, passed away on April 18, 2023 in Lynchburg. He was the son of the late Thornton Dillard and Elizabeth Hubbard Dillard.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charlie Dillard; daughter, Gracie Dillard; three sisters, Gracie Dillard, Emma Stalk and Mary C. Wright.

Charles leaves to cherish his many memories, a devoted wife, Apostle Dorothy Smith Dillard; two sons, Charles Dillard, Jr., and Stewart Booker; one daughter, Antoinette Dillard; ten grandchildren, Charles Dillard, Gracie Dillard, Gavin McNion, Shaheim Moon, Devann Dillard, Monae Dillard, Bryan Cooper, Kathleen Cooper, Deandre Banner and Justin Dillard; surviving siblings, Vivian Marshall and Linda Price of Gladys; Brenda Shearer (Michael) of Lynchburg, Rev. Janet Garland of Newark, NJ and a devoted brother, Curlie R. Dillard (Patricia) of Lynchburg; a life-long friend, Tase Jones of Concord; a devoted sister-in-law, Juanita Batman; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
