Ms. Christine Mabins, age 74, of Nathalie died Friday, August 13, 2010 in South Boston. She was born on April 15, 1936 to the late McKinley "Hicks" Mabins and Evelyn Leigh Mabins. In addition to her parents, two daughters, Gwendolyn and Baby Melinda Mabins and one brother, Leroy Mabins preceded her death. Christine affectionately known as, "Tiny" and Grandnanny" attended Halifax County Schools. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Sunflower Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member. Tiny was a loving person who touched the hearts and lives of many. She opened her doors and her heart to everyone in need. She is survived by two daughters, Kimberley Stone (Wayne) of Nathalie and Karon "Darlene" Mabins of Halifax; three sons, Barry Mabins (Latasha) of Nathalie, Wayne Mabins of Nathalie, and Gregory Mabins (Angie) of Hurt; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; two sisters, Clarine Taylor of Nathalie and Mildred Taylor of Nathalie; one God-sister, Nettie Sydnor of Nathalie, one sister-in-law, Alice Mabins of Nathalie and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
