Obituary

Cordaral Marquese Stovall, son of Tyanda Lashey Stovall, departed this life on June 23, 2024 at the age of thirty-five, peacefully and quietly. He was born on December 24, 1988 in Farmville, Virginia and was raised and nurtured in a loving family with his four siblings in Fairfax, Virginia.

"Cord" lived most of his life in the Northern Virginia area where he attended various schools and ultimately graduated from Thomas Edison High School in Alexandria in 2008. Along with his admiration for the Marine Corps, Cord considered various vocations. He was employed in security during his adolescent years while most of his adulthood was spent working in automotives. In recent years, he worked at Jiffy Lube and was proud to have become an assistant manager where he assured customer vehicles were safe to drive before leaving "his shop".

Cord loved music. He was known to listen and sing along with his favorites for hours on end. Cord was a "big brother" to many people, believed in showing up for and encouraging others to be their best even when he faced his own challenges. Not only did Cord enjoy having a great laugh, but he was even happier when others would laugh and smile.

Cord's affection for his family went well beyond his immediate family. He loved his extended family dearly and did his best to care for the children of those he loved as if they were his own. This is what made him truly happy!

Cord will be greatly missed by everyone who loved him. Keeping Cord in memory are his loving mother, Tyanda Stovall of Fredericksburg; brothers, Christopher Young of Annadale, Raymond Young of Falls Church and Lamont Lewis of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his sister, Schquita Young of Fredericksburg; grandmother, Wilma Stovall of Keysville; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
