Cynthia Evon Martin, age 69 of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026 in Appomattox.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. Buck Ghoston and Mrs. Louise Scott Croner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shavonne Scott; four brothers, Charles "Okie" Scott, Ray Croner, Garland "Brah" Scott and Gary Croner; and sister, Fannie Scott. 

She is survived by her son, Jamarus D. Scott of Madison Heights; four grandchildren, Akia Scott, Xavier Scott, Shavonne Scott, and Darius Charlton, Jr., seven great-grandchildren, Dyshaun Scott, Luna Wilson, Vaida Scott, Jamique Wright, Harmony Campbell, Jordan Wright, and Malia Scott; brother, James Cornell Scott, Jr.; sister, Delores "Sally" Dixon; sister-in-law, Alice Scott; devoted friend, Connie Palmer; God-grandchildren, Brenen Palmer, Makayla Jordan, Jessie Brown, and Dani Glass; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
