Dave Leroy Porter, age 62 of Brookneal. passed away on August 21, 2026 in Fisherville, Virginia. He was the son of the late George Washington Porter and Alice Davis Porter.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Gilliam; and brother, Henry W. Porter.

He leaves to cherish one daughter, Kizziah Berkley of Lynchburg, VA; one granddaughter, Kizzie Berkley of Lynchburg, VA; four sisters, Anna Walker, Mabel Porter, and Mattie Davis of Lynchburg, VA, and one devoted sister, Ruby Porter of the home, who managed and took care of him throughout his life until he took his last breath; two brothers, Gene Davis of Phenix, VA and George Porter Jr. (Charla) of Farmville, VA; one devoted niece, Dianna St. John, who aided with his healthcare and managing his daily routine amongst other obligations; a devoted and remarkably close friend, Ricky Roach; and a host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, family, and friends.
