David Kent Clay, age 70 of Scottsburg, passed away on January 25, 2024 in Scottsburg, Virginia. He was born on June 24, 1953 to Morton and Virginia Clay.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Penny Ingram, Willie Clay, Roger Seamster, Steve Seamster, and Infant Ronald.

David will remembered for his love of fishing and family.

He is survived by his wife, Miriam Clay; daughter, Kierra; stepdaughters, Charlene and Linda, all of North Carolina; three grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie Gillespie of NC, Danny Clay, Dennis Clay, Wendy, Donald Clay (Tammy), all of Halifax, and honorary brother, Jerry Clay of Seagrove, North Carolina; sisters, Debra Clay of West Jefferson, Ida Seamster of Hampstead, North Carolina, and Dorothy Horta of Brookneal; special friends, Janet, Sheila and Frances; and a number of nieces and nephews and cousins.
