Mr. David Franklin Smith, age 68 of Phenix, passed away December 25, 2022. He was the son of the late Chancie Edward Smith and Nellie Ann Brightwell Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Smith; and sister, Jane Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Latrena Mae Fannon Smith of Phenix; his children, Rosa Smith of Madison Heights and Rebecca Smith of Gretna; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith-Branzelle and Matthew Smith Cook; sister, Mildred Woodson of Naruna; brothers, Jerry Smith of Concord and James Smith of Brookneal; and a host of other relatives and friends.
