David Terrance Weaver, affectionately known as "Smokey" passed away on February 22, 2026 in Farmville. He was son of Pamela Hairston and Ronald Frenchet Gardner. He was born on November 22, 1966 in Washington, DC.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Sylvester Gripper.

David was educated in the DC public school system. One of his greatest accomplishments was attending school to obtain the training needed to become a licensed CDL truck driver. Smokey also had a loved for cars and always strived to have to cleanest ride around.
