Mr. Derrick Lamont Banks, age 47 of South Boston, passed away on June 21, 2021 in South Boston. He was the son of Barbara Banks and Willie Banks.

Derrick leaves to cherish his memory, his loving parents, Barbara Banks of South Boston, VA and Willie Banks (Edwina) of Alexandria, VA; two sisters, Cynthia Carr and Stephanie Carr, both of Fort Washington, MD; two brothers, Timothy Banks (Krystal) of Copperas Cove, TX and Tyriece Walker Banks (Ashley) of Stafford, VA;  eight uncles, James Miller of Baltimore , MD, Osborne Banks (Rosa), Michael Carr, and John Banks (Lavonia), all of Alexandria, VA, Rickey Carr of South Boston, VA, James Carr (Tonya) of Camp Springs, MD, Otis Carr (Barbara) of Charlotte, SC, and Jewel Carr (Michele) of Bowie, MD;  eight aunts, Gloria Howell (James) of Ft. Washington, MD, Linda Hunter of South Boston, VA, MaryAnn Carr of Montclair, VA, Emma Carr (Jackie) of Unionville, VA, Velma Crews and Elaine Clark, both of Gladys, VA, Rosa Byrd (Jack) and Ellen Nelson,  both of Alexandria, VA;  three nieces, Chassidy, Alisa, and Semirra;  six nephews, Marques, Marcellus, Jaden, Christopher, Timothy Jr, and Kevon; and a host of other relatives and an abundance of loyal loving friends.
