Doris Jean Milton, age 93 of Gladys, passed away on July 28, 2025 in Gladys. She was the daughter of the late George Nelson Dalton and Evie Lena Perkins Dalton.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, George Washington Milton; one son, Michael D. Milton; one brother, Jack Dalton; and one sister, Anice Wright.

Doris loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, spending time with her family, and her hummingbirds.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Earl S. Milton (Sandy) of Lynchburg, Janet Milton, Rita F. Milton, Carolyn M. Moorefield, and Timothy W. Milton (Lisa), all of Gladys; five grandchildren, Wendy Hudson (John) of Gladys, Jennifer Milton of Altavista, Stan Milton of Lynchburg, Heather Moorefield of Richmond and Matthew Moorefield (Megan) of Nathalie; six great-grandchildren, Aiden and Jordan Hudson, Mae, Madelyn, Miles and Mac Moorefield; and a special caregiver, Elgie Harvey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
