Early Monday morning, Marc 31, 2025, an angel whispered to Dorsey Patterson and said, "Well done".  He departed this life at his home in Pamplin, Virginia.  He was the eighth child born, to the union of the late Thomas and Gracie Patterson, on June 24, 1960 in Lynchburg, Virginia.

He received his education in the Prince Edward County Schools.  He also served in the Armed Forces.  Dorsey confessed Christ as his Savior at an early age and joined Zion Baptist Church in Pamplin, Virginia.

He was employed by various trucking companies for many years.  He was a person who kept a smile on his face.  He spoke and waved to everyone he came in contact with; but above all he loved trains and traveling to different countries.

In addition to his parents, Dorsey was preceded by one brother, Thomas Patterson, Sr.; two nephews, Thomas Patterson III and Willie Patterson; two nieces, Marshelle Patterson and Gabrielle Patterson.

He leaves to cherish many beautiful memories: one devoted sister, Joyce of Farmville, Virginia; five brothers, Samuel of Farmville, Virginia, Robert of Lynchburg, Virginia, Albert (Beverly) of Gladys, Virginia, Joe (Darlene) of Oviedo, Florida and David of Pamplin, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
