Edith Mae Graves, age 69 of Altavista, entered into eternal rest on September 4, 2026 at her residence. She was the daughter Raymond Hayes and Frances Lula Graves.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Haynes and Lulu Frances Graves; grandparents, Mollie and Josh Graves; daughter, Robin Graves; brother, Willie Graves (Fuzz); two sisters, Betty Haley and Shirley Graves; lifetime companion, Henry Lewis “PeeWee”; and granddaughter, Kadarina Layne.

She is survived by her two children, Gregory Graves (Twylia) of Petersburg, Virginia, and Lashanda Graves (Jermaine) of Altavista; grandchildren, Christopher Boyd, Jr. “C.J.”, Jayden Boyd, Shakuria Graves, Skylar Ragin, Gregory Graves, Jr. “Blunt”, Deandre Graves, Malik Hunter, Takota Graves, Damian Canada Ge’ssell Graves “G. G”, Mercedes St. John, Talisa Irvine, and LaQuan Dews; two great grandchildren, Messiah Clements and Amari Boyd; three sisters, Gloria Haley (Lawrence) of Lynch Station, Virginia, Kimberly Graves (Rudy) of South Boston, Virginia, and Shelby Carter of Rustburg, Virginia; uncle, Frank Graves (Easter) of Gladys, Virginia; two aunts, Eloise Graves and Queen Graves, both of Altavista, Virginia; a devoted niece, Ashley Bailey; two devoted nephews, Demond Graves and Sherome Graves; and a host of other relatives and friends.
