Mr. Edward Barrett Hamlett of Lynchburg, formerly of Phenix, entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2022.  He was the son of Mrs. Catherine Barrett Hamlett and the late Mr. Edward Hamlett, Sr.

Big Ed is survived by his children, Taquila Hamlett of Georgia, Keeara Townes of Concord; and his devoted son, Edward Hamlett, Jr. of the home; his mother, Catherine Barrett Hamlett of Phenix; his brother, Lewis "Pete" Hamlett of Phenix; his sister, Jackie Hamlett of Phenix; his grandson, Mike Saintil, Jr.; aunts, Iris B. Holloway (Rev. Harris), Cordelia B. Thomas (Earnest), Dorothy Walker, Caroline Morton, Linda Knight, Diane Hamlett, Peggy Hall, Elaine Clark and Thelma Skates; uncles, Lloyd Hamlett (Hattie), Carl Hamlett, James Lee Hamlett (Debbie), James Dorsey (Thelma); and a host of other relatives and friends.
