"Butch" Lipscomb
January 5, 1941 – October 20, 2024
Elton Davis "Butch" Lipscomb, of Brookneal, VA passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024, after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Betty Bray Lipscomb for 64 years. He was born on January 5, 1941 in Charlotte County, VA, the son of late Marshall Davis Lipscomb and Alice Marshall Lipscomb.
He is survived by his children, Bonnie Lipscomb (Penny) of Richmond, VA, Bruce Lipscomb (Jackie) of Wake Forest, NC,; grandchildren that he adored, Brooke Lipscomb of Charlotte, NC, and Blake Lipscomb of Raleigh, NC; his siblings, Marvin Lipscomb (Linda) of Phenix, Mary Dinkle of Hurt, and David Lipscomb (Robin), of Lynchburg, and their families; also, many loving nieces and nephews.
He proudly owned and operated B&B Save Station for 25 years in Brookneal and made many fond memories and friendships during this time. Even though he worked 90+ hours per week, he prioritized spending his free time with his family. He was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time on the farm, passionate about quail hunting, training his bird dogs and guiding hunting trips. He was a member of Staunton River Baptist Church.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to extended family members, Mary R. Elder, Terri Lynn Crabtree, Chuck Riley and Joan Lipscomb for their support and love over the years.
The family extends a thank you to Commonwealth Senior Living Staff. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the ALS Association.
The Family will honor Butch's request that there be no service.
