Mrs. Emma Jane Dunkley Payne of Nathalie, VA passed away on October 31, 2020 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, VA. She was born on October 5, 1954 to the late Walter Owen and Emma Coleman Dunkley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Howard Lee Payne; four brothers, Charlie Dunkley, James Dunkley, Walter Dunkley, Jr. and John Dunkley.

She is survived by three daughters, Freda Diane Payne of South Boston, VA, Patricia Payne Braxton of Lynchburg, VA and Catherine Payne Garrett of Halifax, VA; one stepson, Eric Lee Brown of Lynchburg, VA; two sisters, Rosetta Scott of South Boston, VA and Barbara Jones of Nathalie, VA; one brother, Joe Lewis Dunkley of Nathalie, VA; eight grandchildren, Rosetta Rose, Patricia Rose, Alexander Payne, Dominic Coley-Payne, Dasia Braxton, Shakira Garrett, Emily Coley-Payne and Jamie Garrett; one brother-in-law, Alonzo (Lonnie) Jones of Nathalie, VA; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Dunkley and Catherine Dunkley of Nathalie, VA and Frances Dunkley of Leda, VA; and other relatives and friends, including a good friends, Anna Walker and Nancy Adams.
