Ernest Wayne Childress, age 80, of Brookneal, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.  He was the husband of Joan Seamster Childress; and the son of the late Lewis and Lona Lloyd Childress.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Lisa Renee Childress and Cheryl Childress Dobson Denny; brothers, Roger Childress and Ronnie Childress; sister, Barbara Childress and son-in-law, Anthony Dobson.

He is survived by his grandchildren: Edward Dobson (Emily), Comalee Dobson (Miste) and Krystal Moon (Joshua); great-grandchildren; Kora, Elijah, Keirah and Jonas Moon; two sisters, Evelyn Childress and Joyce Newman (Bob); son-in-law, John Denny; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
