Etta Dabbs Hancock, age 92 of Gladys, passed away on January 28, 2026 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Stephen Dabbs and Eva Gracie Watkins Dabbs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Charlie W. Hancock; two sons, Larry D. Hancock and Jerry R. Hancock; and four sisters and four brothers.

She survives by seven children, Edith Burks (Robert) of Rustburg, VA, Walter R. Hancock (Linda) of Bear, DE, Eddie C. Hancock of Gladys, Va, Fannie H. McEachern (Larry) of Fayetteville, NC, James T. Hancock (Joanne) of Brookneal, VA, Selena H. Mitchell (Antonio)  of Lynchburg, Loretta Johnson of Gretna, VA; sister, Carrie Lockett of Altavista; special cousin, Alice Anderson of Brookneal; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
