Eunice Lee (Arvin) Bedford, 83, of Keysville, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born to the late Joe T. Arvin Sr. and Estelle Laura (Thompson) Arvin of Keysville, Virginia.
On June 16, 1962, Eunice married Waverly Bedford Sr. of Cullen, Virginia. They shared more than 61 years of marriage until his passing on August 24, 2023. Together they raised four cherished children: Arvin Deneen Bedford, Dr. Chandra Alisa Williams (Habieb), Michael Bedford, and Waverly Bedford Jr. (Andrea), whose passing in 2006 was a heartbreaking loss for the family.
With time, the family tree branched out, bearing the fruit of eight wonderful grandchildren: Dr. Ashley Jessica Williams, MD; David Habieb Williams (Meredith); Anastasia Bedford; Brianna Alexis Williams; Kayla Brittany Strayhorn; Kaylyn Tiffany Strayhorn; Julian Bedford; and Kyle Joshua Strayhorn. She was also blessed with a beautiful great-grandson, Calloway Waverly Williams.
Welcoming her into heavenly rest are her husband, Waverly Bedford Sr.; her son, Waverly Bedford Jr.; her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anderson Bedford Sr. and Nettie Womack Bedford of Cullen, Virginia; her sisters, Mary Helen (Thompson) Hicks (Willie James) of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Patricia Lee (Arvin) Whitehead (Rufus) of Meherrin, Virginia, and Frances Louise (Arvin) Baronette (Noelle) of St. Albans, New York; and her brother, Joe T. Arvin Jr. of Keysville, Virginia; six brothers-in-law, Anderson Bedford Jr. (Pat), Charles Bedford (Barbara), Thomas Bedford, Jerome Bedford, Daniel Bedford (Rosemarie), and Johnnie Bedford; three sisters-in-law, Mariah Watkins (Douglas), Mary Bedford, and Sallie Watson (William).
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. She is also survived by her sister, Sadie Mae (Arvin) Warren (Matthew) of Keysville, Virginia; brothers-in-law, Noelle Baronette of St. Albans, New York, and William Watson of Cullen, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Delois Hite of Keysville, Virginia, Evelyn Berniece Bedford of Baltimore, Maryland, Rosemarie Bedford of Meherrin, Virginia, Barbara Bedford Tines and Rosa Bedford, both of Cullen, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including her special and devoted friend, Zoila Turcois.
