Frances Marie Elam Townsend, age 85 of Brookneal, passed away on January 19, 2025 in Lynchburg. She was the daughter of the late Phillip Elam and Matilda Fields Elam.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Townsend, seven children, Shirley-Jean, Lawrence and Cynthia Elam, Troy, Terry and Fred Townsend, and Sherina Terry; three brothers, Thomas, Carlton and Carl Elam; three sisters, Rosa Pannell, Bertha Gaines and Catherine Elam.

She leaves to cherish her "E"-Everlasting" legacy, Preston Elam (Vena), Sylvia Elam (Ricky), Tracey Townsend, Ronnie Townsend (Audrey) and Sherlita Davis (Dennis); seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. t
