Mr. Fred Warren Layne, age 68 of Brookneal, passed away on July 30, 2020 in Brookneal. He was the son of Mr. Samuel Lee Layne and Mrs. Betty Poe Layne.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Lee Callaway and Silas Layne; two sisters, Virgie Spraggins and Helen L. Yuille.

He is survived by his son, Frederick Layne of Naruna; two granddaughters; one great grandson; a son figure, Tony Miller of Gladys; four sisters, Matilda Layne, Arniece Bradley, Margine Evans and Betty Layne, all of Naruna; two aunts, Elizabeth Poe of Naruna and Juanita Poe of Brookneal; sister-in-law, Elna B. Layne; brother-in-law, Theodore Yuille; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
