Ms. Freda Diane Payne was born on June 29, 1972 to the late Howard Lee Payne and Emma Jane Dunkley Payne and passed away on October 24, 2024 in South Boston, VA.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Payne Braxton, her maternal grandparents, Walter Owen Dunkley and Emma Coleman Dunkley and her paternal grandparents, Mary Catherine Payne and Samuel James Crews.

She is survived by three daughters, Rosetta Rose (Jeremy Hutcherson) of South Boston, VA, Patricia Rose of Portland, Oregon and Emily Coley-Payne of South Boston, VA; two sons, Alexander Payne and Dominic Coley-Payne of South Boston, VA; two sisters, Catherine Payne Garrett (James) of Halifax, VA and Tina Davis of Lynchburg VA; one brother, Eric Brown of Lynchburg, VA; seven grandchildren, Precious Rose, Diamond Rose, Serenity Rose, Alexis Graves, TJ, Sincere Rose and Qualeem Hutcherson ; one uncle, Joe Lewis Dunkley (Barbara) of Nathalie, VA; three nieces and numerous cousins and friends, including Frank Coley of South Boston, VA.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 12pm-1:30 pm at Edmunds Park located at 3164 Dan River Church Rd., South Boston, VA 24592. In lieu of flowers, consider a monetary contribution to Rosetta Rose.
