Gerald Wayne Cheatham, age 70 of Concord, passed away on April 13, 2026 in Brookneal. He was the son of Mary Cheatham Elliott and the late Shirley S. Burns.

He is survived by one son, David Furline of Lynchburg, VA; two grandchildren, Kadyn and KiReon Furline of Lynchburg, Virginia; his mother, Mary Cheatham Elliott of Brookneal; brothers, Kevin Elliott (Cynthia) of Gladys, Virginia and Winston Burns (Virginia) of Naruna, Virginia; aunt, Dorothy Smith of Brookneal, Virginia; step-sister, Linda Johnson of Washington, DC; special friend, Ruby Roark of Brookneal, VA; and a host of devoted nephews, and nieces, other relatives and friends.; very special family member Charlie Gilbert, who was very devoted; and a very devoted friend.
