On October 4, 2024, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend went home to be with the Lord.  Hazel Broggin was born on January 7, 1946 to the late John Thomas Broggin, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Coleman Broggin.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Florence Jackson and brothers, Charles Broggin and David Broggin.

At an early age, Hazel became a member of the Nazareth Baptist Church in Phenix, Va.  In later years, she moved her membership to the Hat Creek Baptist Church where she attended until her health began to fail.

Hazel was  a loving person with a beautiful personality.  She never met a stranger.  She was always willing to lend a helping hand.  She loved to cook and care for others.  Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, Natesha, Jay, Alexis, Starrlah, Skyylar, Sunnae, Elizabeth, Aubri, Kaiden, Brycen, Questin, and Samarah.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer Broggin of Madison Heights, Va., Sheree Broggin of Lynchburg, Va., Danny Broggin (Crista) of Altavista, Va., Earl Broggin (Rachelle) of Harrisburg, PA.  She leaves to cherish her memory; seven sisters, Rose Venable (Earl), Bessie Broggin, Tessie Younger, and Georgia Broggin, Delores Broggin, Deatrice Broggin and Ondria Broggin; six brothers, Franklin Broggin, Richard Broggin (Annette), John Broggin, Jr., Warren Broggin (Ann), Larry Broggin (Florence), and Jasper Broggin, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
