Hercules Davis, age 89 of Cullen, known as "Herk" and "The Big Cheese" passed away on September 7, 2025 in Lynchburg. He was the son of the late Annie Liza Carmichael Davis and Deacon Willie Davis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie Jr., Caesar, Reverend Brown, and Calvin; sisters, Annie Darby, Mary Johnson, Estelle Davis, Lillian Mack, Lena Perryman, and Myrtis Oliver; and granddaughter, Alecya Davis.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 60 years, Teda Melinke Davis; two daughters, Diane Wright of Orangeburg, SC, Leslie Dottin of Midlothian, VA; six sons, Peter (Amy) of Cullen, VA, Bernard (Michele) of Rustburg, VA, Haujii (Cantrice) of Richmond, VA, Hassan (Tiffany) of Randolph, VA, and Rikki (Adrienne) of Chesterfield, VA; step-son, Albert Ford of Cullen, VA; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joella Davis and Deloris Freeman-Davis of NY; two brothers, Adam Davis of NY and James Davis of SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
