James Miles

May 23, 1952 – November 14, 2022
James "Jimmy" Redd of Cullen, Virginia, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend to all. He was born in St. Agnes/White Plains, New York on May 23, 1952, and was the eldest son of Eugene and Adele Redd. He departed this life on November 14, 2022.
He attended Alexander Hamilton High School and continued his studies at San Diego State University. His exceptional athleticism allowed him to travel the world representing the United States Track Team. His impressive track and field career allowed him to compete in Germany, Italy, Russia, and Africa. James was a go-getter who loved to remain active and maintained employment with The New York Department of Corrections, Piedmont Regional Jail, and St. John Legacy, LLC.
He loved the Lord and joined Jericho Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. James H. Taylor. He was a dedicated member until the time of his passing. He was a devoted member of the Voices of Unity, JHT Combined Voices, Jericho Baptist Men's Chorus, and the St. Andrews Baptist Church Senior Choir.
James could strike up a conversation with ANYONE at ANYTIME. He will be remembered for his joyful laugh, sense of humor, and willingness to help anyone who was in need. Although we mourn now, we know that James is with the Lord, rejoicing, and he is at perfect peace.
