Mr. James Richard Davis, age 72 of Nathalie, passed away on August 6, 2020 in South Boston. He was the son of the late Mr. Richard Davis and Mrs. Janie Boyd Davis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley J. Davis; two grandchildren, Christopher and Montia Carr.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Phyllis of the home; four sons, Rickey Carr (Crystal),  Clarence Adams, Michael Davis (La Treasa), all of Nathalie, and Arthur Carr (Teresa) of Clarksville; two daughters, Shenitta Guy (James) and Lamica Davis, all of Nathalie;  fifteen grandchildren, Tisha Carr of Richmond, TX,  Ricky Carr Jr. (Monae) of Hinesville, GA, Frankie Marrow and Stephanie Carr, both of Richmond, Kiara Carr, Arnisha Carr (Josh), Shanya and Shakerya Boyd, Javaryus Waller, all of Nathalie, Cedrick Carr (Katie) of South Boston, Jalessa Yancey of Timberlake, N.C.,  Savion Terry and Omarion Terry of Clarksville, Justin Davis (Neisha) of Lawton, OK, Jordan Davis of Killeen, TX;  nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Diane Byrd of Halifax and Christine Hall (Mike) of Long Island; two brothers, John T. Davis of Lynchburg and Willis J. Davis (Dorothy) of Nathalie; three sisters-in-law, Mary Boyd and Mildred Davis, both of Nathalie, and Gladys Carr of South Boston; one brother-in-law, James Carr (Nancy) of North Carolina; two aunts, Sallie Boyd and Louise Crews, both of Nathalie; a devoted nephew, Ryan Carr that he raised like his own; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
