Rev. Dr. James E. Scott, Sr., age 93 of Farmville and formerly of Saxe, entered into eternal rest on November 6, 2022 in Richmond.  He was the son of the late Mr. Whitfield Scott, Sr. and Mrs. Susie Tucker Scott.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Pauline Pulliam Scott and siblings, Deacon Willie Nelson Scott, Andrew Jackson Scott, Mary Scott Grant, Ortie Elizabeth Scott Clark, and Frances Whitfield Scott Smith; son-in-law, Warren L. Brown and grandson Stephen Philip Reynolds.

Cherished memories will be celebrated by his children, Paul (Carol), Ellarane, Shirby, James (Sylvia), Naomi (Rev. Anthony) Reynolds, Ruth (Anthony) Currie, David (Valerie), Rev. Anthony Scott (Amy),  Marvin (Janice); honorary daughters, Sandra Knight and Charlotte Herndon Womack; grandchildren, Dejuan (Kymberly), Dante' (Jewel), Torie (Tammi), DeBorah (Korey) Courtney, Aundra, Joy; honorary granddaughter, Summer, Travis, Erik, Logan, David Lee, Christopher, Anthony, Markel; fourteen great grandchildren; his brothers, Rev. Dr. Whitfield Scott and Charles Louis Scott; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
