Obituary

James Galon Clark, lovingly known as "Gay" or "Sweet Dog", age 62 of Appomattox, passed away on July 26, 2025 at his residence. He was the son of the late William Earnest Clark and Ethel Estelle Henry Clark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Denise Harvey Clark; and best friend, Clifton Mosley.

He is survived by  his children, Demitria Mosley (Donald Allen), Tanisha Mosley (Darius Jones), Donovan Clark (Lynette Crews), and Robert Broadwater, all of Appomattox, David Harvey (Marquita Morris) of Amherst, Jessica Harvey of Lynchburg; bonus children, Tiffany Hamlett (Jamal Hamlett), DeRon Kelso (Raven Almond), all of Appomattox; nineteen grandchildren; three great children; and nine bonus grandchildren; six brothers, William Hamlett of Gladys, Reginald Clark of Pennsylvania, William Clark (Bernice) of Altavista, Gerald Clark, Steve Clark Timothy Clark, all of Appomattox; two sisters, Paula Clark Barnes of Woodbridge, Candice Clark Jones of Richmond; mother-in-law, Mamie Harvey of Appomattox: devoted friends, Steve Marshall, Laura Kelso, Chuck Franklin, Aaron Curry, Bernard Kelso, Joe Fleshman, McArthur Jones "Jr.", and John Humbles; and a host of other relatives and friends.
