Jesse Willard Banks, age 85 of Farmville, was born on January 1, 1940 in Phenix, Virginia and departed this life on January 10, 2025 in Farmville, Virginia. He was the last born child of Joseph Baker Banks and Laura Daniels Banks of Phenix, Virginia.

His early education was obtained at Charlotte County Public Schools and then he went on to graduate from Beth Israel School of Nursing in Newark, New Jersey. Jesse retired from Hoffman La Roche after twenty-five years of employment as a Lab Technician. While there he received an award for 25 years of perfect attendance.

Sir, Jesse, as he was affectionately known by friends, was an avid theater-goer. He enjoyed attending operas, plays and musicals. To know him was to love him.

Those preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Russell, Pernell (Vivian), Stanley (Janie); sisters, Marybell Barrett (Bland), Katie King (Robert), Rosa Lee Williams (Clifford, Sr.), and Willie B. Hendricks (Obery); and brother-in-law, George Douglas.

Those left to cherish his loving memories are sister, Lucy Ann Douglas,; sister-in-law, Daisy Banks; and numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
