Jesse James Jones of Phenix, passed away on April 2, 2023 in Phenix. He was the son of the late James Edward Jones and Myrtle Lee Harvey Jones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nannie M. Jones and Elaine Jones.

He is survived by his daughter, Charletta Redd of South Hill; grandchildren, Christopher Redd and Jayland Redd, both of Herndon, and Charliyah Redd of South Hill; siblings, Sallie J. Morton of Phenix, Leroy Jones (Vanessa) of Rustburg, Ronnie Jones (Kathilla) of Lynchburg and Fred Jones of Richmond; nieces and and nephews, Kim, James, Johnathan, Christina, Aaron, William, Brandon, Raven, April, Shonda, Monica, Katrina, and Kendall; a devoted friend, Deloris Dennis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
