Mr. Joe Layne, age 72 of Long Island, passed away on March 28, 2024 at his residence. He was the son of the late Jim Layne and Daisy Boyd Layne.

Those left to cherish his memories are three daughters, Marcella Featherston of Halifax, VA, Erica Elam, and Kadijah Canada of the home; three sisters, Earma Barbour of Gretna, VA, Cora (John) Barbour of Nathalie, VA, Ruby (Curtis) Hall of Long Island, VA; one sister-in-law, Elma Lane of Gretna, VA; six grandchildren, KaNiece Featherston, Kelly Featherston, Jr., Aryona Elam, Takayla Elam, Del'Quan Terry, and Myrikal Canada; two great-grandchildren, Caiden Hunt and Nylaya Pointer; a special friend Maggie Boone; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joe had his road dogs, his nephew Chris, Eddie Jones, and Ricky Reid.
