John Michael Jones, age 72 of Phenix, passed away on May 9, 2021 in Farmville. He was the son of the late John Wayne Jones and Hedy Jo Jones and the husband of Mrs. Marilyn Jones.

He loved family, fishing, hunting ground hogs, history, loved a good Western and a was a fiercely loyal friend to all he met.

He is survived by wife of 47 years, Marilyn Clark Jones of the home; his daughter, Michelle Jones Owens (Greg) of Apex, NC; his son, Benjamin E. Jones (Teresa) of Seattle, WA; two granddaughters, Megan Louise and Hanna Elizabeth Owens; brothers, Robert Jones (Becky) of Christiansburg, VA and James Jones (the late Debbie Jones) of Charlotte Court House, Virginia; a special fir baby, Bandit; three grand dogs, Tipsy, Oliver and Dexter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
