Mr. Joseph Dwight Harvey, age 65, of Brookneal, passed away on November 25, 2023.  He was the son of the late Mr. Jeff Harvey and Mrs. Madeline Crews Harvey.

He grew up in a devout Christian home and joined the Green Spring Baptist Church.  In 1976,  he joined the army.  After finishing his stint in the military, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he began his career with the U. S. Postal Service and started a family.  He returned home to Brookneal in 2007, remaining in the area until his Heavenly Father called him home.

"Dwight", in his younger years, thoroughly enjoyed going to the gym and working out.  His nickname was "The Terminator".  He also enjoyed football and watching the news and having a good time with his family and friends, but most of all he loved his kids.

He is survived by his daughter, Treasure Starr Harvey of Frederick, MD; sons, Joseph Dwight Harvey, Jr. of Euclid, OH and Kevin Wright of Lawrenceville, GA; siblings, Rebecca Lois  Marshall and Jasper Harvey, both of Brookneal and Janice Blake Morgan of Frederick. MD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
