Mr. Josh Alfred Copeland, age 90 of Prince Edward, passed away on March 30, 2022 in Prince Edward. He was the son of the late Mildred Ellen Topps Copeland and George Albert Copeland.

He was preceded in death by three children, Edmond Travis Copeland, Edna Mae Carey, and Josh Copeland Jr.; and ten brothers and two sisters.

Josh leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 58 years, Nellie M. Copeland of Rice, Va; four daughters, Ella Epps of Jetersville, Va., Nancy Paige (Benjamin) of Rice, Va., Beverly Casper (Raymond) of Rice, Va. and Nellie Jenkins (Danny) of Cullen, Va; two sons, Anthony Bolden of Woodbridge, Va. and James Copeland of Waldorf, Md; a devoted bonus daughter, Angela Smith (Jonathan) of Promise Land, Va; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; a very special nephew, Anthony Copeland whom he loved as his son; one sister, LaVelma Myers, of Waldorf, Md; two sisters-in-law, Edith N. Cardwell of Concord, Va., and Rosa Copeland of Alexandria, Va; five brothers-in-law, James Cardwell, Ronnie Cardwell and Jessie Cardwell of Lynchburg, Va., Richard Harvey and James Hamlet of Concord, Va; one goddaughter, Roxanne Haskins whom he helped raised, and loved her two sons Tae and Quan as his very own; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
