Joyce Marie Lovelace Jones, age 65 of Brookneal, passed away on January 30, 2024 in Brookneal. She was the daughter of the late George Black and Virginia Lovelace Scott and was raised by Vanie Scott.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Jones, Sr. of Brookneal; daughter, Regina Adams of Brookneal; son, Jeffrey Jones, Jr. (Jessica) of Harrisonburg; grandchildren, DeAnthony Jones (Shawnta), KyAnna Jones, Morgan Adams, Mikiya Jones, Kaliyah Jones, Justice Jones and Wesley Butler; great grandchild, Xavier Jones; sisters, Florine Gilbert (Charlie) of Concord, Edith Jones (Horace) of Brookneal, Sarah Scott of Brookneal, Pastor Connie Butler (Bishop Dwight) of Madison Heights, Carolyn Monroe (Robert) of Connecticut, and Debra Carr (James) of Nathalie; brothers, Phillip Lovelace of Lynchburg, William Lovelace of Brookneal, Dennis Marable (Joan) of Nathalie, Larry Marable (Lois) of Long Island, and George Black (Sheila) of Upper Marlboro, MD; brother-in-law, Benjamin Jones (Nancy) of Brookneal; sisters-in-law, Laurie Jones Oluku (Ogelu) of Tampa, FL, Karen Townsend of Farmville, and JoAnn Hancock (James) of Brookneal; two aunts, Edith Mobley of Chester, PA and Lula Gilliam of Brookneal; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including a devoted friend, Sherlene Greene.
