Kenneth Owen
Waller, Sr.
May 21, 1953 – August 15, 2023
Kenneth Owen Waller, Sr., 71, a loving father, grandfather, and brother of Gladys, Virginia passed peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024 surrounded by family. He goes in good faith to forever remain in the presence of our Lord and Savior, and to be reunited with his beloved parents, Owen and Earl Waller, and an infant daughter, Robin, all of whom have been missed dearly since their departure.
Kenneth was born in Halifax County, Va. on May 21, 1953. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was injured as a paratrooper after 57 successful jumps and was honorably discharged as a Sgt. A special thank you to the nursing staff that helped coordinate a final visit between a man and his dog before his passing. Kenneth was known for his loving and cheerful demeanor as well as his persistence to prevail in the face of adversity and will be missed by many in the community.
He is survived by six children: two daughters and four sons, Connie Boley (Clifton) of Gladys, Courtney Childers (Ed) of Lynchburg, Kenneth Waller, Jr. (Laura) of Altavista, Michael Waller (Nadine) or Appomattox, Geffery Waller (Katie) of Nathalie, and Logan Waller (Meghan) of Gladys; the mother of his four sons, Bonnie Waller of Amherst; 14 grandchildren, Brittney, Cody, Brennan, Morgan, Cameron, Micah, Madison, Liam, Adelina, Harlan, Amerisa, Celestia, Kinsley and Letcher. 4 great-grandchildren Dixie, Emersyn, Mazzy, and Gatlin; three siblings, Faye Gaddy of Gladys, Wayne Waller and Danny Waller (Glenda), all of Brookneal, Va.; a loving brother-in-law, Larry Moon (Samantha) and nephew, Jeremiah Moon (Brandy), all of Gladys, Va. who became a significant part of his life over the past several years; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
