Kenneth Alfonso Word, age 54 of Roanoke, Virginia departed this life on Saturday, February 10, 2025 at his residence. He was the son of the late Garland Alfonso Scott and Brenda Word.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emma Corean Word and Ella Louise Scott Croner and Linwood Berkley.

He is survived by two daughters, Samone Ebony Lewis of Waverly, VA and Jalen Word of Roanoke, VA; one son, Kenneth Alfonso Lewis  of Richmond, VA; one brother, Keith Word (Tanya) of Lynchburg, VA; nephew, Kendrick of Lynchburg; devoted aunt, Sally Delores Dixon of Lynchburg; devoted cousins, Matthew Word of Lynchburg, and Tinika Denson of Evington, VA; devoted friend, Joseph Wooten; and a host of cousins and relatives.
