Kirby Leigh Hassell, age 72 of Brookneal, passed away on June 20, 2026, at his residence.  He was the son of Lorna Hassell and the late William Alphonso Hassell. 

In addition to his father, William Alphonso Hassell, he was preceded in death by his wife, Robin Glass Hassell. 

He is survived by his children, Angela Ward (James) of Brookneal, Virginia, Michelle Hassell of Woodbridge, Virginia and Renee Glover (Terry) of Lynchburg, Virginia; five grandchildren, Tremaine, Kendric, Elijah, Daniel and Tyberius; his mother, Lorna Hassell of Brookneal; siblings, Karen Canada (Paul) of Lynchburg, Virginia, William "Butch" Hassell of Brookneal, and Zelda Hassell of Lynchburg, Virginia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
