Larry Excolin McIvor, 64, of Charlottesville, Va. passed away peacefully on April 1, 2023. He was born on  April 14, 1958, in South Boston, Va. to the  late Mr. Lawrence McIvor and surviving mother, Mrs. Clara F. McIvor.

Larry was a 1976 graduate of William Campbell High School. He was employed with Babcock & Wilcox for twenty years; later worked for Brinks and  retired from Jaunt in 2022.

Larry was an avid UVA fan and a lover of everything Nascar.

He is survived by his daughter,  "Babydoll" Erica (Scott); son, Justin "Sport" (Kyrah); three grandchildren who were the light of his life, Layla, Gracie and Rhyland; his mother, Clara B. McIvor; sisters,  Angie (Dexter) of Lynchburg, Va. and Karen (Robert) of Richmond, KY; brothers, Earl (special friend, Linda) of Lynchburg; and Michael (Marlene) of Concord, Virginia; five aunts, Henrietta Preston, Joyce Ferguson, Deloris Mason, Fannie Boyd,  Edith Black, Frances McIvor, and Arthurine McIvor; and two uncles, Harold McIvor and Butch Barley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration Life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Spring Baptist Church in Brookneal with interment in the church cemetery.  Public viewing will begin on Friday from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the chapel of Jeffress Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Brookneal.
