Lee Roy Davis, age 86 of Nathalie, entered heaven on Sunday, September 29, 2024. He was born in Scottsville, Virginia on June 16, 1938 to the late James Edward Davis and Sarah Hester Winston Davis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters; one brother-in-law, James Wright; and several nieces and nephews.

He attended Bluefield University where he met Janice Wright Davis. Lee Roy taught school for eight years and was called in the ministry full time. He had pastored churches while he taught in his early teens before college. He was a minister for over seventy years, started to preach at the age of 16. He had such a love for ministering to others and serving the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Wright Davis of sixty-three years of Nathalie; two daughters, Beth Brumfield (Troy) of Brookneal and Tammy Jennings (Scottie) of Nathalie; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one brother, Harry Davis of Scottsville; one sister-in-law, Lynette Wright of Daleville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Republican Grove by Rev. Phillip Wright and Rev. Jerry Stanfield with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home, 2097 Stagecoach Road, and on Thursday, October 3, 2024, visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
