Mr. Leroy Gaines, age 70 of Charlotte Court House, passed away on March 16, 2023 in Lynchburg. He was the son of the late James Gaines and Sarah Ann Henry Gaines.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Henry & Mariah Gaines; maternal grandparents, Jacob & Annie Henry, all of whom lived in Charlotte Courthouse, VA; and his youngest brother, Roger Lee Gaines.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Carolyn Gaines; sons, Juan Gaines (Tiffany) of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Orlando Gaines (Karen) of Sumter, South Carolina and Allen Fleet (Natelle) Burkesville, Virginia; daughter, Esther Clark of Forest, Virginia; grandchildren, Cassandra, Terrell, Lauryn & Raven Gaines, J'Leacy Horton, Olivia S. & Orlando K. Gaines; Jessie A. & Jessica A. & Jasmine Fleet, Charles L. Clark Jr., and Christopher Clark; brothers, Tommy Burston (Dorothy) of Danville, Virginia, Douglas Gaines (Vanessa) of Baltimore, MD, and James Gaines (Janice) of Woodbridge, VA; sister-in-law, Kimberly Walker Gaines of Louisa, Virginia; mother-in-law, Mildred Fleet; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
