Mr. Lowell Henry Johnson, age 86 of Gladys, passed away on January 18, 2023 in Lynchburg. He was the son of the late Jim Henry Johnson and Bernice Octavia Bennett Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Seamster Johnson; son, James Timothy Johnson; grandson, Manuel Camargo, Jr.; three sisters, Gracie Johnson Martin, Mary Johnson Shelton and Dorothy Johnson; and brother, Bill Johnson.

He is survived by three daughters, Vickie J. Carter (Johnny) of Lynchburg, Pamela J. Oxendine (Chris) of Archdale, NC, and Kimberly J. Camargo (Manuel) of Gladys; eleven grandchildren, Christy C. Sale, Kevin D. Carter (Renee), Jason L. Carter (Emily), James T. Johnson, Jr., Monica R. Johnson, Amber P. Herndon (Chris), Kaleb D. Oxendine, Zachary W. Oxendine, Larrana C. Crabtree (Cory), Diego T. M. Camargo and Jaydin G. Camargo; fifteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Tucker of Concord, Minnie Jones of Rustburg and Peggy Love of Farmville; three brothers, Clyde Johnson (Maggie) and Kenneth Johnson (Bessie), both of Gladys and Mike Johnson of Rustburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
