Mr. Mac Arthur Hamlett, age 83 of Rustburg, passed away on February 25, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Campbell County, VA on March 7, 1942, to the late Willard W. and Mary (Walthall) Hamlette.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy Harvey, Lillie Vie Hubbard, Pastor Jannie Brant, Margaret Payne, and Jearline Hamlette; two brothers,  Roosevelt Hamlette and William Hamlette, and a granddaughter, Cassandra Morton.

Mac was a member of Hat Creek Baptist Church, Brookneal, VA. He enjoyed fishing, listening to Gospel music, and watching westerns.

Those left to cherish his memories are his fiancé Deborah Crider of Rustburg, VA; his son, Mac Morton (Jen) of Appomattox, Va.; his daughter, Catherine Morton (Robert) of Goode, Va.;.six grandchildren, Kelly Gaines, Kevin Gaines, Eugene Morton, Keisha Hamlette, Ty'neisha Wright, and Brielle Wright; twelve great-grandchildren; bonus children, Ronald Woodruff, David Woodruff, Travis Crider, Jr. (Ladonica), Shamica Crider, Trequan Woodruff, and Sakina Graves; special nieces, Cherly Hamlette, Barbara Davis, and Eldgean Hubbard; special cousins, Susie Walthall, Elizabeth Walthall, and Laverne Tisdale; special friends, Cora Pannell, Vidal Waller, Kevin Moorman, and Charles Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
