Maggie Adams, age 87 of Brookneal, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Guggenheimer Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lynchburg, Virginia.  She was born on December15, 1937 to the late Emma Word.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings and  three children, Curtis, Muriel and Melvin.

At an early age Maggie joined Hat Creek Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her health declined.  She attended Campbell County Public Schools.

Prior to her retirement, Maggie was employed by Thomasville Furniture Company.

Maggie was a fiercely independent and strong-willed woman who shouldered the responsibility of raising her four children without hesitation  or reservation.  She was very private person who always put her family first.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law, Cornelius and Samantha; eight grandchildren, Christina, Jonathan, Alicia, Corduro, Anthony, Amanda, Ashley and David; five great grandchildren;  daughter-in-law, Joyce Adams; brother-in-law, Thomas Ghoston; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
