On February 11, 2024, Our Heavenly Father chose to give our beloved Marie Catherine Smith Freeman eternal rest in her Heavenly home.  Marie was born on May 25, 1932, to Roy Anderson Smith and Mary Tweedy Smith in Campbell County.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie W. Freeman.

Forever cherishing her memories are her daughter, Shirley Shepperson; son, Royal Freeman; grandchildren, Omar Roberts, Angela Shepperson, Jehmal Shepperson, Denise Nicholson (Michael), Terrell Freeman, Donald Freeman, Jr. (Shamar), Brandon Mosley (Shamika), and Eboni Freeman; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Geneva Younger; and a host of other relatives and friends.
